New Customer Leverages Company’s Focus on Innovation
CapRock Government Solutions announced today that it has been awarded a contract with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in support of its emergency restoration communications network, which serves as the backup for the FBI’s existing terrestrial connections.
CapRock will provide a complete solution of technical design, network implementation, field services and program support for the FBI’s Satellite Diversity Program, which supplies critical communications services to law enforcement personnel and field offices nationwide. Under the contract, CapRock will deliver 24x7 network operations support and monitoring assistance for the FBI’s remote locations.
With its expertise as an end-to-end service provider, CapRock’s solution enables the customer to manage its satellite and terrestrial networks in concert and ensure continuity of communications for critical field operations. CapRock is also providing development support for the bureau’s future connectivity and expansion requirements.
“We are proud to be able to serve the FBI and consider this award a testament to our ability to win new business on the merits of innovation and value creation,” said CapRock Government Solutions EVP and General Manager, David Myers. “The award further demonstrates the evolution of CapRock’s government division into a fully managed communications service provider.”
As a General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 70 procurement, the government has the ability to access all of CapRock’s products and services in a single, convenient procurement vehicle. This ensures that the FBI can access the professional services and hardware solutions needed to support its “always up – always available” missions. The contract, which has a value ceiling of $50 million, was activated last month and runs through March 2015, including the base and option years.
Along with expanding its customer portfolio, Harris CapRock has also added to its service offerings with the launch of several new solutions aimed at aligning its focus more closely with the emerging needs of its government clients. Among these is the industry’s first military-grade commercial satellite subscription service, CommandAccess™, which was created as a flat fee service with no “per minute” or “per megabyte” charges. The commercial-off-the-shelf service has already proved successful for customers with disaster recovery efforts and counterterrorism and foreign policy missions, enabling improved real-time situational awareness, intelligence gathering and tactical decision making for deployed personnel.
